Titel: Almost a dozen slides that represent the most essential pixels from a 793×529 specimen of a photograph of sixteen living men carrying a dead gorilla through a cornfield.

At the request of World Press Photo we produced a unique work based on the winning photo in the category ‘Contemporary Issues’ by Brent Stirton. The fascinating element of the assignment was that the work should be based on the photo, but that the copyrighted photograph was not aloud to be used. As a provocation, we selected “the most essential pixels” from the photograph. These pixels we presented in a way that engaged in an exiting relationship with the church where the exposition was held. By changing the context of the selected pixels, the pixels adapted a new form of value. World Press photo was held from 7 to 27th of November ’08.
